PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
To provide education, training, research and consultancy services in accordance with international standards in order to contribute to the adequate and balanced nutrition of individuals and society in order to protect, improve, improve and increase the quality of life. The first stage of the vocational education and training program includes basic sciences, medicine and nutrition sciences, which are the basis for dietetic practices. The courses in the second stage are directly related to the field of application. In addition to the theoretical teaching and practices in the classroom, the student conducts the summer internship related to public health and nutrition in the field as preventive and therapeutic. In hospitals and other institutions, they apply the knowledge they have learned in the courses related to the management of therapeutic and mass nutrition services. With the applications of this program carried out in health institutions and various businesses in the field, the student gains and develops the necessary principles, concepts, knowledge and skills for the dietitian profession. Students who successfully complete the courses prescribed by the department are entitled to receive the "Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Diploma" and the title of "Dietitian". Successful students; In addition to Nutrition and Dietetics programs, they can continue their graduate and doctorate education in the fields of health sciences and social sciences. Dietician is included in the Health Services Class together with Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and other similar professions in the international occupational classification. Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, determining the nutritional status of the society and determining and evaluating the problems and priorities, suggesting and implementing solutions to improve the nutritional level of the country, determining the country's food and nutrition plans and policies, nutrient analysis, determining the nutritional needs of different age groups, regulation and implementation of diets specific to diseases It is a department that plans and conducts applications and research in various fields such as the management and organization of food service in the given establishments. In addition to being an academician, graduates serve as investigative, educational, treatment and rehabilitative in inpatient treatment institutions, child and elderly nursing homes, mother-child health community health special diet outpatient clinics. In addition, graduates can also work as managers, researchers and trainers in private or public institutions related to food and nutrition in other public nutrition institutions. Dietitians who graduated from our school can become members of the Turkish Dietetic Association, which was established in 1969. The association is a member of the European Federation of Dietetic Societies (EFAD). Every year, June 6th is celebrated as "Dietitian's Day".
